Alexi Panos is creating a ripple effect of positivity and love through her personal development programs. Look her up!

What’s your story?
I am on a mission to make personal development mainstream by synthesizing big ideas into fun, bite sized nuggets of goodness that spread throughout the world and create a ripple effect of positivity and love. I do this through creating incredible conscious content like YouTube videos, books, online programs and events.  My speciality is bringing massive ideas in psychology, philosophy, spirituality, neuroscience, and quantum physics down to earth in a way that is fun, innovative and supercharged. I am also the co-founder of  E.P.I.C., a nonprofit which brings clean water to those in need.

What excites you most about your industry?
What I love most about this industry is that I get to grow and learn in the process. Being a leader in this field requires me to stay at the top of my game and to keep overriding old patterns that don’t serve my highest good or my vision.  It’s almost an unwritten requirement that those of us who choose to step into this industry must continuously be “sharpening the saw” and fine tuning our greatness and that excites me and is something I’m always hungry for more of!

What’s your connection to Asia?
I travelled first to Tokyo about 13 years ago on tour as a recording artist with Ja Rule.  Tokyo stimulated all of my senses in a way unlike any other – the sights, the lights, the people, the fashion, the food, the culture and the creativity. I LOVED IT.  I knew it was  the beginning of my love affair with Asia. Sure enough, I headed back out to Thailand a few years later and recently got back from an extended stay in Indonesia and Singapore.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
I loved Bali for doing business on the go (like I do).  There were so many coworking spaces to create from, so many amazing entrepreneurs from all over the globe that I met and collaborated with and so much to see and do. I was constantly inspired!

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Don’t waste your life trying to be someone else or trying to live up to society’s definition of success. Just be you. Everyone else is already taken.

Who inspires you?
People who are so fiercely committed to their vision, to their passion that they make it happen no matter what.  I can’t tell you how many people I meet who are just so-so about their lives and their mission.  So when I meet someone who is on fire with their mission and loving their life, it inspires me like no other!

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
While vulnerable leadership is touted as the most important thing, I think that it is still missing something.  What I’m playing with is the concept of transparency rather than vulnerability, because being vulnerable insinuates that there is something at stake, something to lose and if we share a part of ourselves, we must do so with caution so we don’t get hurt.  However, being transparent is about sharing all of who we are, for the sake of being true.  There is nothing at stake, there is no one to please and there is everything to gain.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Not a single thing. I absolutely love my life and I don’t think it would be what it is without all the good, bad and the ugly that brought me here.

How do you unwind?
Hanging out in nature somewhere either by myself in silence or with my loved ones in amazing conversation.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
GILI AIR. It feels so remote. There are no cars, beautiful scenery and amazing sunsets!

Everyone in business should read this book:
The War of Art – Steven Pressfield. No matter what your business is – it is your art and this book is a beautiful reminder of how we get to blast through the resistance and create no matter what.
