Hui Fang Helps People Reset Their Health by Removing the Ouch!

What’s your story?
Caregiving is never easy. When one family member is sick, the whole family is in pain. My pain came in 2017 when my “Superman” papa was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He left us in February 2020, after a good fight for 3 years. I was his primary caregiver, and brought him to all his medical appointments. I sensed his fear of the needles and I saw him deteriorate over time.

I learned that this pain could have been prevented with simple self care, if we had known about it and started earlier. This motivated me to set up “ouch!” It is my life’s mission to inspire others to focus on their health in order to live better and more fulfilled lives.

What excites you most about your industry?
It is always a joy to hear people sharing how improvement in their health has increased their quality of life. Life is a gift to be lived to its utmost. When we are not in good health, our quality of life is always affected.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I was born in and have lived in Asia all my life.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore! It is really easy to get started here. I bought the domain name, “Ouch!” registered as “Ouch Pte Ltd” on ACRA, set up a website, email accounts, and a bank account, all in a few days!

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
“Don’t worry too much about the market demand… more important is what really matters to you.” This advice came from a veteran businessman who is a friend of mine. Taking that advice, I believe if it matters to me, it matters to others, too.

Who inspires you?
My “Superman” papa! He always gave his best in everything he did.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
It takes very little to make someone feel touched. Small acts and kind gestures of support warms people’s hearts.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Nothing. I believe everything happens for a reason. I enjoy watching how life has been unfolding, with its ups and downs. It is all part of the journey.

How do you unwind?
I take nature walks, read books, and spend time with close friends.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Taiwan. Everyone I met there was so friendly!
