Mandy Uses Powerful Storytelling to Connect Brands With People

What’s your story?
As a passionate storyteller, I began my career in the PR and marketing industry working with brands ranging from non-profits to multinationals across multiple consumer sectors like Hollywood, UNESCO, Pepsi, Art Basel, Cartier, Dior, Moncler, Alexander Wang, Bottega Veneta and more…

Driven by an urge to help companies tell their stories in a novel way, I have founded Eloquence (EQ) International with the aim to share creativity with one and all.

Today, EQ is a boutique agency that offers marketing strategy, brand establishment, creative concepting, branding direction, and strategy for companies large and small.

“We define marketing and brand design for the next generation.”

What excites you most about your industry?
With a background of being known as a PR and Marketing guru, I have found myself exploring all possible marketing ideas. By bringing together all my expertise and skills I am doing what I truly love.

Marketing can be cliche though it depends on how you “explore” and “express” it. Combining my interest in visual aesthetic, I have up-leveled my expression in consulting from traditional marketing promotional campaigns into visual and verbal creative communications.

Creativity is the most egalitarian of human pursuits – every child is born an artist. I believe in building brands creatively, from the ground up – from conception to execution and beyond, all in service of creating a cohesive, spellbinding, story-led brand experience for the consumer.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I was born and raised here in Hong Kong. Asia is my home and as I consider it to be a safe place to live, it will always be my number one choice of places to live.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
I am pretty satisfied with the opportunities I find and encounter in Hong Kong. If you ask me to pick a second place to do business, it would be Bali. What matters to me most is choosing a location where you are content and all good things will follow.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Expect to be POOR ALL THE TIME. All the extra money you make from your business after deducting your overhead and salary should always be reinvested back into the business. STAY POOR TO GET RICH.

Who inspires you?
My other half. We keep inspiring each other every day.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
I recently got a puppy for the first time. She keeps doing things that blow me away. She is so smart and cute.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I would make certain that I trust people before introducing them to my circle of acquaintances.

How do you unwind?
I enjoy many activities such as hiking, meditating, reading, nature, and music. I also favor Pinot Noir, chasing the Sun, Bali, and teasing my dog.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Bali. There is something so special about this place. The atmosphere is exhilarating.
