Saket Singhi, a serial entrepreneur, has 17 years of experience in successfully incubating and building new teams and ventures.
What’s your story?
I have been a long-time serial entrepreneur with 17 years of expertise in incubating and building new teams and ventures, resolving business issues quickly and leverage existing investments to develop new business solutions with big results at minimal investment.
I have launched multiple successful healthcare & e-commerce IT products. When I started in 2002, we were among very few IT product companies in India. The journey from 2002 to 2019 has been full of challenges but we enjoyed the ride and came out with a winning smile. JVS Group has grown exponentially and has expanded its business in 45 countries in the last 17 years.
By introducing big data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), we are working towards making software smart enough to reduce the users’ workload and increase accuracy. We have launched an integrated and scalable EMR & HMS software solution for physicians, clinics, and hospitals and cover most of the areas of Healthcare IT.
Recently, we have ventured into the e-commerce segment for future growth and to introduce diversification. We offer a robust mobile & web e-commerce platform under the brand “Quick eSelling”.
What excites you most about your industry?
The way IT is playing an important role in providing better diagnosis to the healthcare industry with the advancement of IoT excites me. We are changing the way people take care of their health and the way physicians treat patients by making patients equal partners in decision making for their health.
On the E-commerce front, the way marketplaces like Amazon and Alibaba has changed the way business happens, we are excited to bring all brick & mortar shops online by providing them ready to use E-commerce & M-commerce platform for FREE with Quick eSelling.
What’s your connection to Asia?
I was born in Rajasthan, India. I migrated to the United States of America when I was a child and did primary education in the US. After my family migrated back to India, I did my masters at Sukhadia University, Udaipur. I am now helming JVS Group which is currently headquartered in Ahmedabad, India, and marketing office in New York. We have a strong business presence in Asian countries.
Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
My favourite is Singapore! It’s a hub for all IT companies which are having operations beyond national borders. Singapore offers ease of setting up a business, an excellent financial support system for early-stage, and growing companies. It’s a cosmopolitan nature that makes it an ideal location to meet all sorts of people who are interested in different types of businesses, especially in the fields of Healthcare IT & E-commerce, which are what JVS is focused on. We are planning to move our Headquarters to Singapore in the near future.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
During an entrepreneur journey, you come across advice that becomes a guiding point for your future decisions. The best advice I ever received was to believe in hiring experts who can take responsibilities off your shoulder rather than you trying to learn your-self. Team building is a great exercise and it should be done at the earliest to scale your business.
Who inspires you?
In my early days of entrepreneur journey, I used to read a lot of inspirational books and I was highly inspired by Robert Kiyosaki after reading his best-seller “Rich Dad Poor Dad”. I’ll always remember his quote: “Don’t let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning.”
What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
Boston Dynamics’ bioinspired robots with their jaw-dropping agility and animal-like reflexes have always seemed to be outstanding. The company is pushing its technology to new heights, sometimes literally! Its latest crop of legged machines can trudge up and down hills, clamber over obstacles, and even leap into the air like a gymnast. These are probably the first robots you could call Internet stars because every new video posted by them on YouTube instantly gets millions of views. In the next 5 years, I see robots taking over the majority of jobs where mostly repetitive work is done by humans.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I would have invested my money and time in building a great team 5 years earlier than I actually did.
How do you unwind?
Playing with my 10 years old son is a great way for relaxation and unwinding in daily life. I also ensure to take small vacations to unwind. I visit nearby hill station Mount Abu & city of lakes, Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. These 2 cities offer me all the reasons to destress my-self from hectic business life. Mt. Abu has some amazing nature trails and I love exploring them.
Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Ubud in Bali, Indonesia.
Ubud is my favourite destination for many reasons, thanks to its cool highland location, a slow-paced village lifestyle, and an overall laid-back atmosphere. The major attraction is Yoga and well-being practices.
Being a nature lover, I love the great view it offers, particularly along the Ayung and Petanu river valleys. Most of Ubud’s landscapes comprise rice fields backed by green hillsides.
Everyone in business should read this book:
The Lean Startup by Eric Ries
This book discusses the nuts and bolts and busywork that are a big part of starting a business. A startup success can be engineered by following the right processes, which means it can be learned, which means it can be taught.”
Shameless plug for your business:
At JVS, I create change through positive reinforcement and gamification. We are leaders in Healthcare IT and now on the path to become leaders in Ready to use E-commerce Platforms, enabling businesses to expand their brick & mortar to online E-commerce business with their own branded stores for free. We always work with business ideas which has global acceptance. Indisputably, we are one of the top 10 healthcare IT companies in South East Asia and are on the way to reach to top 5 E-commerce Platform in the world.
