A childhood admiration of success and a love of beauty were the inspirations for Sudha Thiagarajan’s beauty and bridal businesses.
What’s your story?
Since I was young, I have admired successful people and had a curiosity as to what drives them to be successful. Being a person who is passionate about arts and loving beauty, I decided to have my own beauty classes, advocating enhancing good looks, and to own my own bridal business.
What excites you most about your industry?
Empowering others with confidence and making them feel good is a real fulfillment. Advocating the right skin products and doing online training allows me to think creatively in expanding my business and gives me leverage.
What is your connection to Asia?
I am a Singaporean. Most of my clients are local, and I also have clients from Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India who join in my webinars for my online skin care and makeup courses.
Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore has always been my favorite city for business. Singapore Is encouraging businesses to be enterprising with the support and assistance it offers. It’s a country of unlimited resources, grooming aspiring entrepreneurs and is the gateway to many possibilities.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door. This quote has been a catalyst for me when I am cornered. And the advice I always get, when I hear Tony Robbins podcast “it’s not the lack of resources, it’s your lack of resourcefulness that stops you.”
Who inspires you?
I have a few names to mention. Ketki Vinayachandra is a naturopath and herbalist who has unconditionally impacted me with her training, moulding me to be a fine tuned entrepreneur. Next I have Joyce Kingsly , owner of SIS Premium meats, and a leader of the women’s entrepreneur wing LISHA Women’s Wing, who gave me opportunities to conduct big events that spurred my potential. Another lady, ISU, a healthpreneur, who has encouraged me and trained me for workshops.
What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
To be a person of possibilities, you need to constantly strive, and equip yourself with knowledge and practice to adopt new paradigms to suit the current trends. For that I had a series of breakthroughs leading to major self-discovery and transformation.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I would have carefully invested my time, and worked on creating a momentum and scale upon different strategies that innovatively create productivity.
How do you unwind?
I listen to songs, have a me time, explore different restaurants, meet up with old acquaintances and enjoy sharing experiences. These connections give me thought for growth as well. But meditation has always been my daily generator.
Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Bali, a fabulous place to relax, explore with a spiritual touch and beautiful nature to create calmness.
