Reaching out to the stars! Andy Wong literally promotes stars (or artists) throughout Asia. Today, his business is a market leader in concert promoting.

What’s your story?
Started 12 years ago as an audio visual rental company, we have evolved as an events company and are now a market leader in concert promoting in Asia. We were commissioned as the exclusive artist provider for the Universal Studios Singapore opening which saw Paula Abdul attending through our arrangement. We arranged for Cesar Milan to do his first meet and greet event in Singapore and we produced and promoted the Asian leg of David Blaine’s first world tour. Today we are the largest entertainment provider for the cruise industry in China.

What excites you most about your industry?
The ever constant changing and unpredictable situations I find myself in at work. The people whom I get to meet daily. The need for me to be thinking on my feet constantly. No two days are ever the same.

What’s your connection to Asia?
Borned and raised in Singapore, the heart of Asia. It makes natural sense for me to set up base and grow from here.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore. It’s a place which can help you reach out to more developing markets. Its efficient system also allows businesses to grow faster.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
This loosely translated Chinese saying “All men love wealth but methods to earn it must be with ethics and integrity.” One veteran businessman also told me “I am helping you now in the hope that you will pass it on in future.”

Who inspires you?
The character and mindset of Donald Trump and the vision of Lee Kuan Yew.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
Everything happens twice. Once is when you imagined it. The next time is when you realised it.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Nothing! Every chapter and lesson which I went through sculpted and moulded the present me.

How do you unwind?
Live bands with drinks and a group of buddies.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Thailand. The warm hospitality of the people who treat everyone equally.

Everyone in business should read this book:
Donald Trump “Think Big, kick Ass”

This neural network, trained to recognize optical illusions like the Necker cube and Rubin’s vase, exhibits a state of ambiguity, mirroring human ambiguity in perception. This finding […]
Key Takeaway: The British cycling team’s 2008 Beijing Olympics victory was a result of a simple strategy: the pursuit of marginal gains. The team’s coach, Sir Dave Brailsford, believed that success could be achieved by making a series of 1% improvements across every aspect of the cyclists’ gear, stamina, and physical conditioning. Key Takeaway: Ancient Greek paradoxes were not just philosophical exercises but mental traps designed to expose contradictions and inconsistencies. They challenged the assumptions of language and the concept of truth, revealing the limitations of language and the power of presuppositions. The liar paradox, attributed to Eubulides of Miletus, forces us to question whether some questions […]
