In your own words what is the business about?

I help people create workplaces where everyone gets to do their best work. I coach for successful workplace behaviors focusing on customer experience.

What led you to your current business?

After years of watch people struggle in less than effective work environments, I felt the need to create tools and processes to help them love their workplace again.

Could you walk us through your process of developing your business?

Building a business is hard work, 12 hours a day, wearing many hats. Because my business is both a coaching product and service, it took a long time to pilot the intellectual property portions of  my process. Upon completing the pilots of the program, I began the video and content based marketing for my industry. I’ve heard it said that it takes three years for your business to really get traction. I’m in the traction phase currently.

Did you encounter any particular difficulties in the beginning?

I made the choice to not use venture capital, because I wanted to keep as much of the profit as possible. This meant self funding. My first round of filming for my video based product was lost because the team I hired over sold their capabilites- that meant I was out a large sum of money. Start ups require capital, when your key investment is lost and you have to start over, it tests your resolve. It took me a year to refund the project, but I never gave up.

What is your long term plan?

I believe this particular product and service has a $10 million dollars revenue stream and I believe I will grow it its full potential. Helping people create workplace where they love to work is my calling, purpose and I intend to fulfill this purpose.

Could you share with us some industry insights?

I believe coaching and facilitating will become the most single important strength of a leader and manager over the next ten years. But only when done by the people within the organization.

Coaching as a skill set is highly prized and will only grow as diversity in the workplace and a desire to have great workplace cultures increases.

Coaching as a key to creating culture is only just beginning to hit popularity as thought leaders are seeing its potential.

What are some important lessons you’ve learnt about entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint of heart. It takes years of commitment and living on a budget to see results. It also takes a lot of help from family and friends, not financially, but with word of mouth.

Any tips of advice for achieving success?

Success is relative, happiness and a sense of fulfilling your purpose is the goal. I do this work because I feel most alive and drawn to serve the world this way. Being of service , making the world a better place one workplace at a time – thats is success.
