Born in Paris, DrinkEntrepreneurs has since gone global, with events organized in 40 cities such as Shanghai, London, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, Hong Kong and our very own Kuala Lumpur!

This 29th March (Thursday), key players from the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Malaysia will gather for KL’s Largest StartUp Party at Kyo, Mandarin Oriental! As entrepreneurs and professionals gear up for DEKL’s 4th year anniversary event, we wanted to know how a monthly event could sustain itself for so long! We reached out to the founders of Drinkentrepreneurs Malaysia, Mr. Lingesh Thayala and Mr. Ganesh Mahendranathan.

“We provide an informal setting for entrepreneurs and professionals alike to exchange ideas in a relaxed environment. Our attendees are extremely diverse coming from a variety of sectors whilst our partners view it as a strong platform to connect and engage with the start-up community”, says Lingesh.

Ganesh adds, “Over the last 2 years, apart from our traditional events, we have also helped startups and corporations to build their own vibrant communities by organising customised mingle events for FREE! We take community building seriously and believe that organisations are built from the bottom up. Based on feedback we’ve received, larger organisations have cited benefits such as improvement in team morale and productivity as a result of these monthly/quarterly meetups”.

Having grown to a large event commanding up to 200 attendees every month, Drinkentrepreneurs in KL has since expanded operations to cities across Malaysia comprising Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru and Miri to help foster the vision of entrepreneurship community building throughout the country. Their future goals are to replicate that model amongst traditional corporations and rapidly growing startups!

This year they’ve brought in key industry players within the startup ecosystem to participate in what promises to be the largest startup party in KL. These include 500 Startups (venture capital), Tech in Asia,  Techstars, AIESEC Alumni Network, CommonGround.work (backed by Catcha Group), Synergize, BEAM (networking platform for professionals) and Technology Entrepreneurs Association of Malaysia.

For this month’s annual get together, over 300 attendees are expected to show up at Kyo, Mandarin Oriental this 29th March from 8pm onwards. Bring your friends to celebrate what promises to be an unforgettable party! Feel free to reach out to the co-founders, Ganesh (+60164457661) and Lingesh (+6012770 3791) for any enquiries.
