Book whispering… “Inspiring people, one book at a time.”

What’s your story?
I’m a book whisperer that distills the wisdom of top entrepreneurs into bestsellers.

What excites you most about your industry?
That I am changing lives and inspiring people one book at a time.

What’s your connection to Asia?
Born and bred and 100% Singaporean! I am also able to eat a crazy amount of chilli without breaking into a sweat!

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore, well I am biased because this is my home and where my vast network is.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Don’t do something you’re passionate about – do something that makes money then go pursue your passion.

Who inspires you?
My clients who have overcome unsurmountable hardship to be successful entrepreneurs in Asia. I count my blessings every day that I am able to learn valuable lessons from them and share their stories with the world.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
That in this era of #girlbosses, most of the women that I’ve met still doubt their abilities to have a good book (whereas all the men are signing up for trilogies!). C’mon ladies, time to lean in and be confident of your selling power!

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Nothing at all. Everything happens for a reason and this has made me who I am today.

How do you unwind?
Yoga, boxing, runs with my dog and travelling.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Anywhere with lots of nature, no shopping centres and some sporting activity. I recently went to Oman and fell in love with the mountainous region and its silence.

Everyone in business should read this book:
The 4-Hour Work Week – it changed my life. I’ve always wanted to write a book and one evening, as I was reading it, this paragraph stood out to me: “You don’t have to be an expert to write a book, just interview experts!” I literally sprang off my sofa, whacked out a book proposal to interview the top 20 entrepreneurs in Singapore, and the rest is history – Boss Of Me became a bestseller! Thank you, Tim!

Shameless plug for your business:
Let me get your words out to the world. Writing a book could direct the course of your career for the rest of your life. It could lead to infinitely important connections, multiple revenue streams, spin off products, breakthrough ideas, and international relations. It would definitely send more business your way. It could change one person’s life for the better. Or it could start a revolution.

Key Takeaway: Antarctica’s tiny invertebrates, such as mites, springtails, and tardigrades, have developed strategies to survive extreme cold conditions. These adaptations, known as freeze tolerance and avoidance, allow them to survive below zero temperatures without damage. These survival mechanisms could inform future innovations in areas such as organ preservation and materials engineering. Understanding how these […]

Key Takeaway: AI-powered mental health tools, such as chatbots and self-help apps, offer immediate emotional support to those in need. However, these tools cannot replace the complexity, depth, and ethical safeguards of human therapy, especially when dealing with serious mental health issues. AI lacks emotional understanding, cultural context, and real-time adaptability, which can be dangerous […]
Key Takeaway: The discovery of asteroid 2024 YR4 has reignited fears about cosmic threats, highlighting the need for a global planetary defense system. Political scientist Daniel Deudney warns that unchecked expansion into space, especially with geopolitical rivalries, could be a recipe for global disaster. The fear of space, its vastness, and existential indifference is deeply […]
Key Takeaway: John Harvey Kellogg, a controversial doctor, played a significant role in the development of the plant-based movement. He combined the Progressive Era with “biologic living” and established an experimental kitchen to develop alternatives to meat. In 1896, the U.S. Department of Agriculture asked Kellogg to create a plant-based protein that could rival meat […]
Key Takeaway: Research shows that some animals form surprising partnerships, challenging traditional views on how intelligence evolves in the animal kingdom. For example, Octavia and Finn, a day octopus and coral trout, work as a team, each bringing unique skills to the hunt. Other species have also developed remarkable partnerships, such as the greater honeyguide […]
