Inspired by others pushing the boundaries, Paul Ho’s business is fast becoming the number 1 loan tool plugin in Singapore. With the wealth industry growing, find out how you can jump on board.

What’s your story?
iCompareLoan.com is becoming Singapore’s most preferred loan tool plugin, powering more than 200 websites, including those from ERA, TheEdgeProperty, Century 21, CoAssets and many more. Many websites are now embedding iCompareLoan’s loan comparison plugin on their sites.

What excites you most about your industry?
The wealth industry is growing in importance as Singapore gains internationally in becoming the centre of wealth management. We can play a part in structuring finance for housing loans and in the future, all other types of loans.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I was born and bred in Singapore, except for a few years away in the UK. I believe Asia is the place to be. The balance of power has shifted in Asia’s favour. The new world belongs to Asia.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore is my favourite city for business due to the simplicity of doing business.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Don’t wait for the perfect product. You just do your best, bring it to the market and test it.

Who inspires you?
Serial entrepreneurs inspire me and make me want to do better. They are tireless and are always willing to challenge themselves and push the boundaries of their capabilities.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
There is a lot of incremental learning going on all the time. New perspectives, newer perspectives. So I would not say there is one single thing that blew me away, but rather the summary of many things together that sweep me off my feet.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I am not quite sure what I would do differently as many of the things I am doing now, I stumbled across by positive experiences and negative experiences. Positive experiences are like, “Ah ha, it works,” and negative experiences are like, “Oh, now I know why this does not work out as planned.”

How do you unwind?
I go for a midnight drive or simply go for a massage or indulge in hawker food.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Thailand is one of my favourite destinations as the food is delicious, the people are friendly, things are very cheap and best of all the Thai massage is fantastic. I can do 4 to 6 hours of Thai massage in a single day.

Everyone in business should read this book:
Everyone should read Sun Tzu Art of War. It is very useful in business strategy and execution. Another book is, Steve Job’s autobiography. You need to follow your heart and intuition, sometimes it is not just about building a perfect MBA style business plan, you need to live your dream and not bother about what others think of you. You need to be foolish.

Shameless plug for your business:
Property agents and financial advisors can enhance their lead capture by embedding our loan and insurance plugins onto their websites. It’s as easy as embedding a Youtube video. Just generate the code, paste it, that’s all. https://www.icompareloan.com/plugins-generator

Intel’s strategic missteps during the rise of mobile technology led to financial reliantness on older technologies and delayed investment in next-generation manufacturing processes. The company’s struggle is emblematic of a larger challenge for the U.S. […]
