Following her heart and her own tragedy, is what has driven Else to help others seek instant pain relief.

What’s your story?
My name is Else Vistisen. I am the founder and owner of a company named Combined Therapies.

I am a therapist and specialize in chronic pain relief.

In the last ten years, I was fortunate enough to have treated thousands of people giving instant pain relief. In fact some people travel from abroad to seek my treatment.

Right now I am writing a book about my life both as a mother and as a therapist.

What excites you most about your industry?
Ever since I was a child I have enjoyed creating beautiful things with my hands and helping other people with what they need to get things done, or just a listening ear.

I soon realised the joy of creating and helping were of great value within the health industry and were valued no matter where I was placed in the world.

That combination still excites me and I am always thrilled when I witness a true transformation from unresolved chronic pain to instant pain relief.

Why do I do what I do?
Many of us do what we do because of some life-changing experience. Mine came when my daughter was diagnosed with what was said to be a non-curable disease: one that would leave her to suffer all of her life.

I was determined that would not happen to her. And since that day, I have devoted my life to bringing the joy of a pain-free, fulfilling life to thousands of clients worldwide.

My long term vision is to help people around the world to lead joyful and pain-free fulfilling lives.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I am a Danish citizen. In 1984 I moved from USA to Hong Kong to work as an occupational therapist at Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital. Since then I have had the privilege of living and working in several different countries in Asia among others Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore and the proud parent of three children, each born in their own Asian country.
In 2005 I founded my own private clinic named Combined Therapies Pte Ltd which is regulated under  the Ministry of Health and has full registration by Allied Health Professions Council in Singapore.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Within my profession I find Singapore the easiest place to do business because I am able to communicate with my clients and health practitioners in English. That gives me the opportunity to better understand and adapt to the individual physical, emotional and mental needs of the client.

When further investigations or referrals are needed it is of great benefit for both the clients and myself that the health industry in Singapore is so highly advanced, efficient and regulated that it only takes a short time to have the necessary results available to be able to apply the optimal treatment.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
My aunt advised me to always follow my heart, believe in myself and work towards my dream.

I am born in a small village in the country site of the west coast of Denmark. A small society with strong traditional values and with limited exposure to the outside world in the mid 1970’s.

I was born curious and so much wanted to experience a different and open minded belief system.

Thanks to my aunt’s encouragement  I managed to persuade my parents to let me go to the USA at age 18 and have since then been a global traveller and followed my instincts.

Who inspires you?
People who dare to stand up and fight for equal human rights to make the world a better place to live in for the individual human being.

It has become very clear to me that we as human beings are all born with the same needs. No matter our birthplace, culture and our religion.

We need to respect and accept different ways of living, different mindsets and different values. What might be good for me might not be good for the other person.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
Recently I joined the 40 week ‘ Key Person Of Influence ‘ program. A very new and exciting journey for me, as I have never felt comfortable networking or exposing myself in front of a big group of unfamiliar people. The program has taught me to ‘lean in,’ to connect with and get advice from a fantastic new group of people with different experience and knowledge.

A recent connection which has really impressed me has been with the awesome B1G1. Last week I gave my smile to the “Joy of Giving Week.”

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Generally I try not to look back. I am very good at living in the present and enjoying the moment. For me life is not about the destination but all about the journey. We can’t erase past experiences. They are, and will always be part of who we are. It is far more beneficial to embrace and learn from the past and use it as a stepping stone to grow and move forward in a healthy and positive way.

I am fortunate to have always been able to work with my passions. I love what I do and I am grateful to get up every morning to be able to make an impact and to change people’s lives for the better.

How do you unwind?
I love to be out in nature.  I spend a lot of time each week either running along The Green Corridor or walking and swimming to improve my physical and mental strength. I also use this time  to find inspiration for new ideas.
Most evenings I relax by reading books, writing and listening to music. The weekends are spent with good friends and a round of golf with my husband.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
My favorite place in Asia to go for pure relaxation and outdoor activities is a small and almost remote place north of Kota Kinabalu called Karambunai in Sabah, East Malaysia.

A beautiful place with white sandy beaches and clear water. Spectacular nature and Mount Kota Kinabalu in the background. There is an unforgettable sunset over The South China Sea.

Everyone in business should read this book:
‘The Blink’; The Power of Thinking without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell.

This book is all about those moments when we ‘know’ something without knowing why. Malcolm Gladwell explores the phenomenon of ‘blink’, showing how a snap judgement can be far more effective than a cautious decision. By trusting your instincts, he reveals, you will never think about thinking in the same way again.

Shameless plug for your business:
Sadly too many people live with unresolved chronic pain issues. They have sought the help of health practitioners to no avail. Nothing seems to work for them.

I provide not just the hope of a solution but a real and long lasting solution without the use of drugs and without stress. I do that with unique, gentle, effective and non-invasive body therapy.

Even better, we are normally able to provide total and permanent pain relief in just 3 visits.

How can people connect with you?
The process is simple: just a quick consultation and then 3 sessions with me – usually only 3 sessions to be pain-free.

It is really easy. Just visit my website at www.combinedtherapies.com or call my private assistant on 9826 3705 and take the first step with confidence.

The reality is that a pain-free life is just one connection away!
