Today, the CEO of Universal Language Productions, Pierce Alexander Lilholt, shares with us some insights he has gained through business. Tell us a bit about yourself Pierce.

I am serial-entrepreneur. I create companies and brands. I specialize in creating internationally diversified companies and brands in the information technology and intellectual property sectors. My expertise in communications is undeniable. I received my BA in communications from Franklin College, Switzerland. I have established global communications networks and inspire others to leverage our vast networks to help expand their own networks. I am a public speaker and lecturer who enjoys helping entrepreneurs and celebrated individuals reach their goals.

In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, sailing, and cooking. I am a self-taught musician who never had any formal training. Despite never having taken any piano lessons, my piano style is uniquely impressive. I was taught to sail by the world’s best sailor and host of the hit television program Boating With Billy, William Sheldon Martin (AKA Billy Martin). Every race I have ever sailed in with Billy Martin, we have taken first place. When I cook, I often enjoy the company of the fun-loving chef Santos Trujillo (AKA Tony). Santos Trujillo, the host of the Fun Tony Show and CIA-Trained Chef (Culinary Institute Of America), is one of my favorite people to cook with because he loves fun as much as I do.

Whether it is business, making music, cooking, enjoying nature, or just relaxing, I find art in everything I do. Most of all, I find FUN in everything I do!

In your own words what do you do?

I have fun!

What led you to your current business?

Everything is so easy. Making internationally diversified companies seemed difficult, but that turned out to be easy too. I believe there is no ceiling for fun. You can never have too much fun. Now, I am in the business of having fun, and business is boomin’!

Could you walk us through your process of developing your business?

I have developed many businesses, and they are all different. Basically, I start with a great idea and then I take that idea plan around it, make actionable steps, and then I follow those steps to make it happen. Don’t talk about it. Be about it.

Did you encounter any particular difficulties in the beginning?

Entrepreneurship is a lot like driving a car. Sometimes there are speed bumps, but I don’t think I have ever been driving a car and described a speed bump as a difficulty. Not only is entrepreneurship easy, it is FUN!

What is your long term plan?

I have a lot of plans, but they are all the same. I plan to have fun!

Could you share with us some industry insights?

It doesn’t matter what industry you are in, the most important thing is to have fun. If you are not having fun, you might want to ask yourself why you are doing it. I understand people have responsibilities to family and friends, and your work often pays for the party, but being selfless all the time is no way to live. You will probably find that you can provide for others and yourself and still have fun at the same time. You might even find that your productivity skyrockets when you are having fun. For me, it doesn’t matter what industry I am working in, when I am having fun, my productivity is through the roof!

What are some important lessons you’ve learnt about entrepreneurship?

The most important lesson I have learned about entrepreneurship and business is that sometimes you have to do something that is not fun in order to have fun. You should always have something to look forward to. I always look forward to MORE FUN!

Any tips for achieving success?

If you want to succeed, just have fun. Financial success may impress other people, but you fill find that fun is always satisfying. There is nothing like fun, so become obsessed with what you do, and become obsessed with fun!
