Joshua has combined his two interests; sales and coaching. He now works with Vaulsden Consulting coaching sales people!

What’s your story?
Growing up, I used to talk a lot (most of the time, I was asking questions). I was super energetic and often challenged convention because I felt I had better ideas to share with the world.
Unsurprisingly, I found myself doing sales. A few years ago, I combined my two passions; sales and coaching. Today, I coach sales professionals and companies to double their sales within 30 – 90 days.

What excites you most about your industry?
I believe that family and relationships are more important than work. By helping companies and sales professionals to make more money with less effort, they have more time for the more important things in life.
Many of my clients have become great friends. I feel very fulfilled and blessed.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I served my NS!
I was born and bred in Singapore. I also have a lot of friends around the region whom I travel often to meet. My goal is to have one friend in every country.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore. Great infrastructure, accessibility and stability. Best of all, the government provides lots of support for businesses here.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it.”
Most of the time, we can’t control our circumstances, but we can control our response. And that has brought me tremendous success and happiness.

Who inspires you?
I draw inspiration from the people around me, especially my friends and loved ones.
Four people who’ve had a direct influence on my coaching career are Pastor Joseph Prince, Adam Khoo, Ramesh Muthusamy and Joshua Maha.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
We all tend to wear “masks,” to project a certain image expected by society or by others. This leads to a ‘disconnect.’
By showing our vulnerability, we appear more human and people connect with us better. This is especially important in my line of work as a coach.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
When I launched my startup, I bootstrapped due to a lack of funds. I had to do the sales, the delivery, the admin and logistics. This led to limitations and slower growth.
Looking back, I would have raised capital and hired staff. So I could work on the business, instead of in the business.

How do you unwind?
I pursue new experiences; learning a new skill or language, going to somewhere I’ve never been before and meeting new people.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Indonesia. It has everything – nature, beaches, adventure, culture, food, spas and shopping. Most importantly, I have many friends there who are very close to my heart.

Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins. To me, success is 80% mindset and 20% skillset. This book empowers us with the necessary mindset and skillsets to achieve our greatest potential.
