Angela Can Teach You How to Build a Nutrition Based Network Marketing Business
What’s your story?
Up until the age of 43, I had a terrible relationship with food, despite being a fitness instructor for over 20 years at that time. I was never healthy, I would binge on a regular basis, and was always trying to out exercise my diet. I was on a destructive roller coaster. My decisions around food and exercise came from a place of self loathing and were loaded with guilt until I discovered a simple nutritional regime that changed everything and also introduced me to the world of Network Marketing. Now I am dedicated to helping others break their negative eating patterns while educating them about this incredible industry.
What excites you most about your industry?
Where do I start? It’s a level playing field that is open to everyone regardless of education, ethnicity, age, gender, or location. Unlike a traditional business, the start-up and running costs are nominal (I get to eat my overhead) and all the logistics, operations, IT, storage, and stock are taken care of for you.
Not only that, to become a successful Network Marketer, you are required to expand your comfort zone. In effect, it’s like a personal development plan with a pay cheque.
Mostly though, I love the opportunities for choice that NWM offers. A woman can choose to stay home with her family, and not only contribute to the family finances, but can create a financial security blanket with the valuable income producing asset she builds.
What’s your connection to Asia?
My mother is from the Philippines and my father is from Nepal. They met in England. Mum is still there and I’m not sure about my father as he left when I was very young and I never met him. I came to Hong Kong in 1997 when I got transferred with the firm I was working for at the time. I was only supposed to be here for a year.
Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
I love Hong Kong! I love the energy, the people, the vibrancy and the “can do” attitude. It really is a place where you can make your dreams come true. I’ve found so much support and encouragement here, despite not having the local language skills.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
“Courage before confidence.”
My issues of self worth and fear of not being good enough would often prevent me from taking action. I’d do one more course, one more workshop, one more podcast, in the hope that I’d feel confident after that. However, confidence doesn’t come that way, it comes with practice, by taking action.
Learning to trust, both in myself and in the fact that everything happens precisely the way it is supposed to, has been a game changer for me.
Who inspires you?
I am inspired by people who live their passion, who have had to overcome adversity to achieve greatness, but remain humble and kind at the same time. If I had to name a few, Kobe Bryant springs to mind, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, and then, of course, my husband!
What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
I’m in the final stage of qualifying as an Integrated Clinical Hypnotherapist. The whole process has been so revealing in terms of understanding the power of the mind and our thoughts — we really are the creators of our own reality and the responsibility for our lives lies squarely with us.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I wouldn’t change anything, but I would perhaps appreciate a bit more patience, something which I must confess, I don’t have in large amounts. I believe that everything that’s happened up to this point in my life has been for a reason. Sometimes it’s hard to see the big picture when we are standing right in the middle of a challenge. It’s only with hindsight that we see clearly.
How do you unwind?
I live on Pui O very close to the beach and for me there is nothing more rejuvenating than having the sand between my toes, enjoying the sea breeze, listening to the sound of the waves, with the mountains in the background.
Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Da Nang in Vietnam has got to be high on my list. The energy and vibe, the beach is beautiful, and I love the people and the food. I also loved the Sun Moon Lake in Tai Chung, Taiwan. Again, the energy and beauty of the area was breathtaking, and the food at the night markets was amazing!
Everyone in business should read this book:

Shameless plug for your business:
As founder of Bust-a-rut, I am passionate about helping people improve their health and wealth by using my simple nutritional system.
I teach people to create an income producing asset by redirecting as little as $150 USD per month, of what they are already spending on groceries and supplements, towards my company, and then I show them how to duplicate an income stream within their network.
