Lisa, thanks for taking the time to talk to us. You’re doing great work at 1300GETTINT, tell us a bit about yourself.

I am often asked, Why I am in business and the answer is quite simple, I knew from quite young I was meant to follow the beat to my own drum, I am very lucky and thankful to have met a man who can let me achieve that, through his amazing talent and work ethic, I am been able to build a successful business around his passion which in turn has lit a deep passion of my own.

Here are a few more facts about me. I don’t care who gets the credit. I just want to succeed. I am a left brainer who loves figures but I am terrible at math. I work best under high stress and deadlines. I absolutely love working with my partner and seeing our ideas come to life. My daughter Zophia is my true motivator to keep going when times are tough during business. I don’t actually mind Tax time. If I wasn’t doing what I was doing I would be a General Practice Manager
I struggle with writing content & blogging.

In your own words what do you do at 1300GETTINT?

The day to day running of the business, including accounting and marketing.

What led you to your current business?

I was kinda forced into this business, my partner was a window tinter for another business, and that business was doing some really shady things with customer vehicles so what we did was create a business that was built on integrity

Could you walk us through your process of developing your business?

We started offering a mobile service and set up a facebook account, went to vistaprint got some business cards.

Did you encounter any particular difficulties in the beginning?

Number one struggle would be wearing the many hats and letting go of certain tasks that need to be outsourced. A big struggle I had for many years was juggling personal life with business life, there is so much talk about work life balance, and I don’t believe it is achievable, you are always your work, your breathe it, you think it and you are recognised out in public and asked for quotes and the most inconvenient times, so although it was a struggle for many years, it had been great to finally recognise the pursuit of balance and “happiness” is a complete myth, and I started to just embrace my business as a whole. It’s a lifestyle choice so to speak

What is your long term plan?

Our long term plan is to open another branch with looks to franchising in the future

Could you share with us some industry insights?

You really do get what you pay for in our industry, there are many cowboys that slap and run, what I wanted to do was create a business that was there for the longhaul

What are some important lessons you’ve learnt about entrepreneurship?

Having a strong foundation, and being prepared to listen and adapt.

Any tips for achieving success?

You must have the bravery to give it a go. Starting a business is a big risk but as long as you keep a smile on your face, and don’t be afraid to ask for the big jobs you will be on the correct path, immerse yourself in self education and development.
